Een 15e en 11e plaats in de Winter 2016 fotowedstrijd van de ISPWP! Wat onwijs kicken! Begin dit jaar heb ik mij mogen aansluiten bij de ISPWP: de International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers. Ik had er onlangs nog een blog over geschreven. De ISPWP organiseert vier keer per jaar een fotowedstrijd onder hun leden. Ik had daarom ( op de valreep) een paar foto’s ingestuurd voor de wedstrijd van “winter 2016”. Ingezonden foto’s worden beoordeeld door vier professionele trouwfotografen. Dit keer waren dat: Alexander Volmar, Fran Chelico, Linchpin Miao en Maurizio Solis.
Op de 11e plek in de categorie “Kids will be kids” belande ondeugende bruidsjonker Jamie! Hij spiekte stiekem even onder de trouwjurk van zijn mama tijdens de receptie. Een heerlijk verlegen ventje die even wilde schuilen voor alle aandacht die dag, maar toch stiekem even de tijd van zijn leven had. Welnu de foto van het mooie en lieve bruidsmeisje Minke heeft ondertussen al een paar prachtige awards gekregen. ( een Fearless en een Master award). Nu belande deze foto op de 15e plek in de categorie “Emotional Impact”! Yihaa een plekje in de top 20! De volledige Yes-I-Do! trouwreportage die bij deze foto hoort is hier te vinden. De heerlijke trouwdag van Judith en Robin!
Misschien ook wel leuk om te vermelden hoe deze foto tot stand is gekomen: ik was op de juiste plek op de juiste tijd! Echt seconden werk. Je zou het bijna een “twee-seconden Shot” noemen. Minke was de hele dag heerlijk blij aan het rondrennen, grapjes aan het maken, lachen en spelen. Het momentje op de foto was dan ook echt een klein unicum rustmomentje, een paar seconden lang. Op de dansvloer in de armen van haar moeder die langzaam wiegend een rondje danste. Mijn oog viel erop. Ongezien kon ik een klein sprintje trekken om dichterbij te komen. Ondertussen mijn camera ingesteld en in de aanslag. Heel snel heb ik ongezien deze foto gemaakt. Daarna keek ze alweer op, maakte zich los en rende zij naar buiten om tikkertje te gaan spelen met de rest.
Twee heerlijk spontane trouwfoto’s van kleine speciale momentjes op een bijzondere dag. Een trouwdag! Waanzinnig dat ik hiermee twee keer in de top 20 sta van de winter 2016 contest van de ISPWP!
Wat mij betreft is het Rebel Shots trouwseizoen voor 2016 fantastisch begonnen!
Neem ook een kijkje tussen de prachtige winnende foto’s van de Winter 2016 wedstrijd. Ik vind het een hele eer om met twee foto’s tussen al dat moois te staan!

A 15th and 11th place in the 2016 Winter photo contest of the ISPWP! How awesome! Earlier this year I was admitted to the ISPWP: the International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers. I recently written a blog about it. Four times a year the ISPWP organizes a photo contest among their members. I had therefore (last minute) submitted a few photos. Photo submissions were judged by four professional wedding photographers. This time they were: Alexander Volmar, Fran Chelico, Linchpin Miao and Maurizio Solis.
On the 11th place in the category “Kids will be kids” : naughty best man Jamie! He peeked underneath the wedding dress of his mama during the reception. A lovely shy little guy who just wanted to hide from all the attention that day, but surprisingly had the best time of his life underneath the dress. He made the top 20! Now the photo of the lovely and sweet bridesmaid Minke has won a few beautiful awards already. (a Fearless and a Master award). Might be nice to mention how this picture was made: I was in the right place at the right time! Really the moment just lasted for a few seconds. A “Two-second Shot”. Minke was happy running around the whole day, making jokes, laughing and playing. The moment of the picture was an unique moment of complete piece, a few seconds long. On the dance floor in the arms of her mother who was slowly dancing in a circle. My eye fell on it. Unseen I ran towards the bride to get closer. Meanwhile I set my camera in the correct settings and was ready the moment I stopped running. I’ve made this picture very quickly. Then she looked up, made herself loose and ran outside to play with the rest.
Two lovely spontaneous wedding photos of small special moments on a special day. A wedding day! Amazing that I’m in the top 20 of the 2016 winter contest of the ISPWP twice!
As far as I am concerned the Rebel Shots wedding season for 2016 started fantastic!
